Revised equations for estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were published in 2021 using creatinine (eGFR-Cr) and both cystatin C (eGFR-Cr/CysC). This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic role of eGFR incorporating patients with heart failure (HF). The NZ PEOPLE is a prospective cohort HF. Cystatin immunoassays performed on stored plasma samples. eGFR-Cr eGFR-Cr/CysC calculated. Four-year outcomes (death death/HF hospitalisation) assessed Cox proportional hazards models covariates age, sex, ethnicity, deprivation index, New York Heart Association class, diabetes, HF admission, ischaemic aetiology, blood pressure, log(NT-proBNP), one or eGFR-Cr/CysC.
